English Wedding Traditions

According to their ancient lore, the best time to wed is during Christmas and harvest season when food is aplenty. Since English folks are such stickers for formalities, bans are read for three consecutive Sundays in the church, and it is generally considered unlucky for the couples to be present when the wedding bans are announced. Hawaiian Wedding Traditions

Today, the Pu is usually used to announce the arrival of the bride and is blown in all four directions to bring in good luck from every direction.

The wedding ceremony itself is quite long and truly elaborate, involving three small rituals that feature many symbolic gestures. However, younger generations have openly adapted the Western wedding tradition since it’s more practical.
